About Bridges to Careers:

Bridges to Careers is a program facilitated by CareerEdge to enhance the skills and earning capacity of our community members by providing them with an opportunity to obtain the necessary training and credentialing so that they can enter the workforce successfully and permanently.

The program includes Soft Skills Training in modules such as:

  • Attitude is Everything
  • Conflict to Collaboration
  • Professionalism in the Workplace
  • Customer Service
  • Stress Management
  • Teamwork
  • Time Management

In addition, Employability Training is offered through topics such as:

  • Resumes, Cover Letter and Applications
  • Interviewing Skills, including Mock Interviews
  • Dress for Success

Students may also receive Digital Literacy Training, based on the Microsoft Office Suite applications, which provides beginning computer users with what they need to effectively use a computer and get a jump start on computer applications common in today’s workplaces. And Financial Literacy Skills are also taught given this is an important aspect to job-readiness training. Some programs also offer guest speakers and employer tours.

The Bridges to Careers curriculum was developed to meet the needs of our community by providing employees with the skills to be successful, and providing employers with the talent they require to meet their workforce needs. Course deliveries are customized for both the audience served, as well as for individual employers or industry groups. Many programs are also delivered in tandem with industry-recognized certification programs to give participants job training in specific, high demand careers.

Bridges to Careers is made possible through grants from Elevate America Microsoft, Jane’s Trust, JP Morgan Chase, Gulf Coast Community Foundation, Bank of America, the Bradenton CCRA, Bradenton Downtown Development Authority, 14th Street CRA and Charles and Margery Barancik Foundation.
